The Hay Trailer is a hand crafted wooden cabin built on a reclaimed hay trailer.

It is a cosy, light and homely space situated in the sought after destination of St Catherine's, an area of outstanding natural beauty, unspoilt and private.

Guests have exclusive use of a private hot tub at an extra cost. See the details below.

There is a pet fee of £20 for each pet.

There is possible pool access for extra cost in summer months. Please enquire for details.

Open plan living/sleeping space with a comfortable kingsize bed,

a sofa bed for extra guests (please see extra cost of £20 this), kitchen area, dining area and high seated work area with view of the garden,

bathroom with double roll top bath. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are provided.

All linen is provided.

Fully functioning kitchen with hob, small Sage oven and fridge/freezer. There is generally oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, tea, earl grey tea, herbal teas, coffee and sugar provided.

Flat screen television with Roku attachment and DVD player, with a large selection of DVDs.

The Hay Trailer is set in its own a private garden, planted with herbs and plants for all year round interest. The garden surrounding that is 3 acres of beautiful wild garden/woodland.

We live down the hill but there’s enough space for everyone to have their own privacy.

There's a private parking space close to the Hay Trailer.

There is a wood fired hot tub just outside the Hay Trailer too. Please let us know when you book whether you would like to use the hot tub.

It's £75 if you're happy to light and heat the tub yourself with all materials and instructions provided, or £100 for us to light it and get it up to temperature for you for you on the first evening of your stay.

It can take a few hours to get it up to temperature. Bare this in mind if you’re planning to light and stoke it yourself. The cost covers your whole stay, you may light it yourself on consecutive day’s during your stay. There may be a small extra charge for wood used after the first couple of uses if you’re staying for a longer period and use it several times.

It’s a good idea to bring flip flops or slippers to get from the cabin into the hot tub, it’s not far, just across the external decking just outside the Hay Trailer. Robes are provided.

Beyond the garden are acres of unspoilt, hilly countryside all in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the edge of the Cotswolds.

There are wonderful walks, many along a brook, which you can reach from the bottom of the garden via a public footpath and explore in either direction from here.

Either up to Marshfield or along to Batheaston, along unspoilt footpaths and country lanes. It's all right on your doorstep.

We are just 5 miles from the Heritage city of Bath.

There are 2 Pubs 2 miles away in Marshfield selling good food.

Batheaston has some takeaway food options too.

The Hay Trailer is strictly a non-smoking property. Guests will be fined £150 for smoking inside the premises.

Guest are welcome to explore the surrounding garden, respecting the privacy of others living on the premises. There is access to the footpath at the bottom of the garden by following the driveway down the hill.

We are often around and very happy to chat, and also happy to respect guests' privacy.

The Hay Trailer is situated on the edge of the Cotswolds, a 10 min drive from junction 18 of the M4 motorway, and 15 minutes from the city of Bath.

It is surrounded by acres of stunning countryside.

Also nearby are Dyrham Park, Castle Combe and Lacock. There are plenty of good country pubs, some of which are a 5 minute drive away in Marshfield.

It is a sought after place to come and visit.

It is necessary to reach the Hay Trailer by car. There is no public transport nearby. The nearest train station is Bath Spa, which is a 20 minute taxi ride.

Saint Catherine's is crisscrossed with public footpaths which take you onto the Cotswold way in one direction, or into the centre of Bath in the other.

Guests may need to read directions and possibly screen shot the info before entering St Catherine to avoid getting lost as phone reception is patchy in this area.
